Character Counts!What is Character Education? · Character Education is about teaching young people to know, accept and live up to their moral duties and obligations. · It involves a complex process using: Knowledge- teaching principles of right and wrong Feeling- instilling ethical values and attitudes Actions- demanding and modeling ethical conduct MSU Extension and the Michigan 4-H Youth Development Program supports and uses the Character Education framework called CHARACTER COUNTS! CHARACTER COUNTS! is a framework designed to help youth and adults build a common language and teach good character. CHARACTER COUNTS! does this by using the six pillars of character: TRUSTWORTHINESS RESPECT The Clare County CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition is a group of community members, teachers, and business personnel passionate about teaching and spreading the word about good character. The mission of the Clare County Character Counts! Coalition is to develop and enhance cultural understanding and promote character education for the citizens of Clare County. Located at the MSU Extension-Clare County Office is a RESOURCE LOAN LIBRARY for community members to borrow, books, videos and activities regarding CC!. Click here to see what the Clare County CC!
